Michael Mills (born January 14, 1942 in London ) is a British-Canadian animator.

Life

He attended Griffin Animation Studio after finishing school , worked under David Hand at Gaumont and joined the National Film Board of Canada in 1966 . This is where the short film Evolution was made , for which Mills received an Oscar nomination in 1972 . Mills had also appeared as a film producer since 1949 and produced his own works himself. In 1974 he founded his production studio Michael Mills Productions in Montréal . In addition to numerous commercials and television productions, Mills continued to create short animated films. World history in exactly three minutes , which was made in 1980, was nominated for an Oscar in 1981 and received the Golden Bear at the Berlinale in 1981 for best short film.
