Ottawa International Animation Festival
The Ottawa International Animation Festival (OIAF) is a film festival for animated films in Ottawa .
history
The OIAF was founded in 1976 by the Canadian Film Institute . The festival initially took place every two years. In 1997, in the years that the IOAF was not held, the International Student Animation Festival of Ottawa (SAFO), launched by the OIAF, was held, aimed at students and young animators. The OIAF has been held annually since 2005. Since then, the SAFO categories have been part of the OIAF.
