Andreas Hykade

Andreas Hykade (* 1968 in Altötting ) is a German animated film director, who with his ideas and images animated films , but also invents adult children and manufactures.

life and work

Hykade's best-known works include videos for the German band Die Toten Hosen ( Ten Little Jägermeisters and Election Campaigns ) and the Italian DJ Gigi D'Agostino ( Bla Bla Bla and The Riddle ), as well as the series Tom and the strawberry jam bread with honey , but also his Short films are shown at global animation festivals ( We lived in the grass , Ring of Fire ). The musical composition of his animated film Love & Theft was awarded the special Music for Animation prize at the Stuttgart Animated Film Festival in 2010 . Hykade is a regular guest at the Stuttgart Animated Film Festival and provides numerous film presentations and supporting program items.

After studying at the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy, the Bavarian artist found a professional home in the Stuttgart “Studio Filmbilder”, which accompanies him creatively and in terms of production on most projects. From 2005 to 2010 he was a professor at the Kunsthochschule Kassel . In 2006 he finished the short film Der Kloane , which was awarded the German Short Film Prize and in which he processes his own experiences and feelings.

From 2008 Hykade was a professor at Harvard University . He has been teaching at the Animation Institute of the Baden-Württemberg Film Academy since 2011, and has been head of it since 2015. In 2019 he received an invitation to membership in the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences , which awards the Oscar .
