Michael Ogertschnig
Michael Ogertschnig (also Ogertschnigg , * 1846 in Ratzendorf near Maria Saal ; † ...) was an Austrian portrait painter .
Life
Born as the son of a "chaste" (smallholder, smallholder), Ogertschnig had endured all the hardships of a talent who was almost self-taught in secret , and finally after several years of apprenticeship in the Austrian capitals and a stay in Feldkirchen through several exhibited in the Klagenfurt State Exhibition in 1885 To be able to draw the attention of other circles to portraits of notabilities in Klagenfurt. From then on, with numerous commissions from Carinthian and foreign patrons , Ogertschnig soon worked in the Carinthian capital as a sought-after portrait painter. He was also entrusted with the execution of the portraits of the Carinthian provincial presidents in the reception hall of the provincial government in Klagenfurt.
