Michael Sauer (born September 9, 1969 in Wiesbaden ) is a former German soccer player .

In his youth, Sauer played for VfR Wiesbaden (up to B-youth) and for SpVgg Nassau (A-youth). He later worked for FC Freudenberg and the Free Gymnastics Association in Wiesbaden . From 1990 to 1998 he played for SV Wehen in the Oberliga and in the Regionalliga Süd. At SV Wehen, Sauer was valued for his quick steps and the team-friendly style of play and was considered an integration figure by the Wehen fans.

Sauer moved to professional football for two years. 1998 to 2000 was a player of 1. FSV Mainz 05 in the 2. Bundesliga . He could not fight for a regular place in the Mainz team and moved back to SV Wehen in the Regionalliga Süd in winter 2000 . In 2004 he joined SG Hausen / Fussingen / Lahr as a player-trainer in the regional league . In 2008 he moved to the FV Biebrich 02 association .

In April 2010 he became the coach of SV Erbach (A class) in the Rheingau-Taunus district . In the 2013/14 season he coached the 2nd team of SV Wiesbaden .
