The FV Biebrich 02 is a German football club from the Biebrich district of the Hessian capital Wiesbaden .
history
Beginnings
The club was founded on November 10, 1902 as Biebricher FC 1902. On April 7, 1913, the name was changed to Biebricher FV 1902. The club colors are blue and white, from which the traditional blue sportswear has developed. The football club belonging to the State Association of Hesse (Wiesbaden) rose to the top division in 1919, the Hesse District League. The competitors in the game year 1919/20 were: Germania Wiesbaden , SV Wiesbaden , Alemannia Griesheim, Höchst 01 , Fvgg Kastel, Höchst 08, Kreuznach 02, 1. FSV Mainz 05 and SG Egelsbach , which occupied the relegation place. The class could be held until 1923/24 . In this round, the season played under the name District League Rheinhessen / Saar. The opponents of the Biebricher FV 02 were: Borussia Neunkirchen , SV Wiesbaden, TG Höchst, FC Idar , SV Trier 05, FV Saarbrücken and Alemannia Worms . The Worms descended with the "blues" and the master Neunkirchen moved into the final round of the southern German championship. The District League Main played in the Frankfurt area.
The 02er venues are located on the Dyckerhoff sports field.
After the Second World War
Through many years of excellent youth work, the "Blue" succeeded in 1957 with the coach Heinz Przybilla promotion to the 1st amateur league Hessen. The first three years it was about staying up, then the trend went up. In the 1962 season the 02-Juniors became Hessian runner-up and the FV developed into a "point of attraction" for talents from the amateur field. The “blues” took fourth place in 1963 behind VfB Gießen, SV Wiesbaden and TSV Heusenstamm and were able to repeat this in 1964. With Gerd Klier and especially Jürgen Grabowski they had above-average players in their ranks. Grabowski was appointed to the amateur national team on May 15, 1965 at the international match in Siegen . In the summer of 1965, both talents switched to contract football, with Jürgen Grabowski in particular having an extraordinary career in top German football at Eintracht Frankfurt and the German national team . The 02er were able to measure their strength in the Hessen-Liga for another three years, but at the end of the 1967/68 round they were relegated. In 1973/74 the FV Biebrich even landed in the A-Class, but in 1980 it was promoted to the Central Regional League. Since 2003 they have belonged to this class again, which has been named Verbandsliga Hessen from the 2008/09 season .

Next to the playing field
In Biebrich, the largest district of Wiesbaden, the “blues” have been doing integration work for some time in the socially disadvantaged area, where the proportion of foreigners is high and the problems are diverse. Biebrich 02 traditionally provides the largest youth department of all Wiesbaden clubs.
