Shawn Parker (born March 7, 1993 in Wiesbaden ) is a German football player . The striker was most recently under contract with SpVgg Greuther Fürth and played international matches for all German youth teams.

Career

youth

Parker began his active career in the youth department of the Wiesbaden district club FC 1934 Bierstadt , then moved to FV Biebrich 02 and then to SV Wehen . In his second year as a D-youth the 1. FSV Mainz 05 brought him into its youth department .

societies

From the 2011/12 season, Parker played for Mainz 05's second team in the Regionalliga . For the 2012/13 season he moved up to Thomas Tuchel's professional squad . On October 27, 2012, he played for the first time in the Bundesliga when he was substituted for TSG 1899 Hoffenheim . In his second game, his starting eleven debut, Parker scored his first Bundesliga goal in a 3-1 away game at Eintracht Frankfurt on November 27, 2012.

On July 1, 2014, Parker moved to FC Augsburg . He made his debut for his new club in the 2-0 defeat against TSG Hoffenheim on matchday one . He played with FCA in the Europa League in 2015/16 and was eliminated by Liverpool . At the end of August 2016, he joined 1. FC Nürnberg on loan for a year . Here he was injured in only six appearances in the 2nd Bundesliga.

Before the third match day of the second division season 2018/19 , Parker moved to SpVgg Greuther Fürth . He signed a two-year contract with the Franks. Until his contract was terminated at the end of January 2020, the attacker only made five competitive games (one goal) for the first and eight appearances for the second team.

National team

Parker went through all grades of the German national youth soccer team from U15 to U20 and scored a total of 25 goals in 46 games. In August 2013, Parker was nominated to the squad of the U21 national team.

Personal

Parker is the son of a US soldier stationed in Wiesbaden and a German mother. His younger brother Devante (* 1996) is also a soccer player.
