Giorgos Theodoridis ( Greek Γιώργος Θεοδωρίδης , born July 3, 1980 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a former Greek football player . The 1.74 m tall midfielder preferred to play on the left offensive side.
Giorgos Theodoridis grew up in the Wiesbaden district of Biebrich and began playing football there in 1986 at the local FV Biebrich 02 . In 1995, at the age of 15, he went to Greece and joined the youth department of the traditional Aris Thessaloniki club . In 1997 he received his first professional contract with the then second-rate club and made his debut on September 5, 1998 for the first time in the Greek first division in the 0-1 home defeat against Panathinaikos Athens . Except for the second half of the 1998/99 season, when he was loaned to Athinaikos Athens, Theodoridis Aris Thessaloniki remained loyal to the summer of 2002 and scored three goals in a total of 49 first division appearances. In January 2003 - after Theodoridis had been without a club for six months - he moved to Aris city and arch-rival PAOK Thessaloniki . At PAOK, Theodoridis made it into the regular formation and was one of the pillars of the club when it won the Greek Cup in 2003 . After 37 first division appearances for PAOK, Theodoridis finally moved to Panathinaikos Athens in 2005, where he was under contract until 2007. From 2007 to 2008 he played Lyttos Ergotelis in Crete . For the 2008/09 season he moved to Germany to the second division promoted FSV Frankfurt and came there to 14 games in which he scored a goal. After a year he returned to Greece, where he played for Panetolikos Agrinio .
