Michael Schäffer (born April 28, 1968 in Neunburg vorm Wald ) is a German curler .
Schäffer made his international debut in 1988 at the Winter Olympics in Calgary , but he remained without a medal. In 1992 he won his first precious metal with the gold medal at the EM in Perth .
Schäffer played as second of the German team in the XVIII. Winter Olympics in Nagano in curling. The team around Skip Andreas Kapp took eighth place.
Together with his Skip Andreas Kapp and the German curling team, he was awarded the silver laurel leaf.
