Michael Skelde

Michael Skelde (born August 13, 1973 in Horsens ) is a former Danish road cyclist.

Michael Skelde began his career in 1997 at PSV Cologne. In the 1999 season he moved to EC Bayer Worringen, where he won a stage of the Tour of Rhodes . In 2000 he rode for Cycling Horsens and in 2001 he moved to Team Fakta . In his first year there he became Danish champion in the team time trial together with Jimmy Hansen and Jørgen Bo Petersen . In 2004 Skelde switched to Alessio-Bianchi and in 2005 to Glud & Marstrand Horsens , where he remained active until 2007. Since then he has been the sporting director of the Danish Continental team .

In 1997, Skelde was tested positive for testosterone on the Tour of Denmark and was then banned for two years for doping .
