Michael Stöber

Michael Stöber (born December 25, 1974 in Wittlich ) is a German law scholar and university professor .

Life

Stöber graduated from high school in 1994 and then did his military service until 1995. He completed his law studies at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (1995–1999). He completed both state examinations in law with the grade "good" and his doctorate with summa cum laude . He then initially pursued a career as a lawyer.

Stöber completed both a doctorate (2005) and a habilitation (2011) with Johanneswertebruch at the University of Marburg. Between 2011 and 2014 he was a substitute professor at the universities of Trier, Bochum, Münster and Konstanz.

Since 2014 he has been a member and deputy chairman of the ethics committee of the educational sciences department at the Philipps University of Marburg . In the same year he was offered a W2 professorship for commercial and corporate law at the TU Dortmund . Since the summer semester 2015 he has been professor of civil law, German and international tax, commercial and business law as well as civil procedural law at the Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel .

He is co-editor of the publication series “Forum Unternehmens-, Steuer- und Bilanzrecht” and a member of the judicial examination office for the state compulsory subject examination at the Schleswig-Holstein Higher Regional Court in Schleswig. Since July 2018 he has been the Dean of Studies at the Faculty of Law at the Christian Albrechts University in Kiel.

Stöber has made several teaching and research stays at foreign universities, including in England (London), Spain (Madrid, Barcelona, ​​Valencia), Turkey (Istanbul), Italy (Rome), Colombia (Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena) and Brazil ( Rio de Janeiro).

His research focuses on German, European and international contract law, commercial and corporate law and tax law.
