Michael Stier (* 8. August 1965 in the valley ) is a former German politician of the SPD and from 1998 to 2002 member of the state parliament of Saxony-Anhalt .

Life and work

After attending the secondary school in Timmenrode , he did an apprenticeship as an agricultural machinery and tractor fitter at KfL Blankenburg from 1982 to 1984 . In 1990 Stier passed his master craftsman examination and in 1994 he received his trainer qualification examination at the Chamber of Industry and Commerce . In 1996 he became a business economist in the trade and was employed as a quality management officer at the Gröningen Business Academy. Since leaving the state parliament, he has worked for the Debeka Group in sales, anti-fraud and compliance and the focus on white-collar crime. He has been running his own company Sicherheitsstier since 2017 as a criminologist and is the head of the "Education Campus" of the Rahn Education Group in Halle an der Saale.

Until 2011, Stier belonged to the district council of the Börde district. Stier was a member of the state parliament from 1998 to 2002 . He represented the constituency of Oschersleben and was a spokesman for SME policy and a member of the “Sustainable Saxony-Anhalt” commission of inquiry.
