Michael Truß
Michael Carsten Truß (born May 12, 1960 in Frankenberg) is a German urologist , associate professor and director of the urological clinic at the Dortmund Clinic .
Life
From 1981 to 1988 Truß studied human medicine at the Hannover Medical School , Tufts University and Harvard University . In 1988 he obtained his license to practice medicine and the Foreign Medical Graduates Examination in the Medical Sciences. (FMGEMS)
From 1988 to 1990 he was an assistant doctor at the urological clinic of the Hannover Medical School . In 1990/91 Truß worked at the James Buchanan Brady Urological Institute at the Johns Hopkins Hospital in Baltimore. He then completed his surgical year in the surgical clinic of the Henrietten Foundation in Hanover.
In 1992 he received his doctorate and in 1993 passed his specialist examination to become a doctor in urology. With a habilitation grant from the German Research Foundation , Truß worked from 1993 to 1995 as a research assistant at the Lower Saxony Institute for Peptide Research GmbH (IPF) in the Medical Park Hannover.
In 1995 he started as a senior physician at the Urological Clinic and Polyclinic of the Hannover Medical School and became senior physician there in 2001. In 1996 he obtained his habilitation and the venia legendi for urology. In 2000, Truß received additional training in the field of urology in special urological surgery .
From 2001 to 2005 he was a member of the board of the Center for Surgery and Section II of the Senate of the MHH. During this time he obtained the title of adjunct professor in 2001 and completed a part-time second degree in hospital management for doctors / medical hospital management at the FH Hannover .
In 2003 Truß became an EFQM assessor (European Foundation of Quality Management).
Since March 2005 he has been director of the Urological Clinic at the Dortmund Clinic.
In 2006 and 2007 he was awarded the additional title of andrology and drug tumor therapy from the Westphalia-Lippe Medical Association
