Michael Wink

Michael Wink (born April 10, 1951 in Esch (Bad Münstereifel) ) is a German biologist .

Life

From 1971 to 1977 he studied biology and chemistry at the University of Bonn . 1980 Michael Wink was at the Technical University of Braunschweig Dr. rer. nat. PhD . He then continued to work there as a postdoc and completed his habilitation in "Pharmaceutical Biology" in 1984/85.

Since 1986 he worked as a Heisenberg fellow of the DFG at the Max Planck Institute (MPI) for Breeding Research Cologne and at the Gene Center of the LMU Munich , until he accepted a professorship for pharmaceutical biology from the University of Mainz in 1988 . In 1989 he moved to Heidelberg University as Professor of Pharmaceutical Biology (C4). Wink is director at the Institute for Pharmacy and Molecular Biotechnology , Biology Department . From 1990 to 2002 he was dean or vice dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy; from 1999 to 2005 and from 2012 to September 2018 he was the founding dean of molecular biotechnology (BSc, MSc); from 2005 to 2007 Wink was Vice Dean for Research, Faculty of Biosciences.
