Michaela Junker
Michaela Junker (* 1964 in East Berlin ) is a former German badminton player .
Career
At the side of her older teammates Jörg-Peter Palm, Michael Schmidt, Wolfgang Hillbricht, Frank Kattner and Petra Tobien, Junker was able to distinguish himself at Kühlautomat Berlin in the school and youth years. Sixteen medal wins in the junior age classes were the result. In 1981 she won her first medal at the GDR championships for adults with bronze in women's doubles with Petra Tobien. A year later they repeated this success, in 1983 they won bronze again, but this time with Dagmar Friedrich from Dresden. In 1984, again in doubles with Tobien, she rose to silver. A year later she won bronze again, this time together with Manuela Engler. In the same title fights, she also won the bronze medal in the women's singles. Four further third and two second places followed by 1990.
Michaela Junker lives in Kiel today .
