Michal Zach (born March 21, 1969 in Prague ) is a former Czech football player and current football coach .

Player career

Zach spent his entire career at Aritma Prague, apart from his military service, when he played for Dukla Hranice.

Coaching career

Zach began his coaching career at the age of 21 and coached a youth team at Aritma. He then worked at Spolana Neratovice from 1993 to 2000, initially in the junior division, later as an assistant coach , and finally as head coach. In the 2000/01 season he was assistant coach at FC MUS Most , the following year coach of FC Střížkov in Prague. From 2002 to 2004 he worked in Most as the main coach, as well as in the 2004/05 season at MFK Ústí nad Labem .

His next stop was from 2005 the first division club FC Slovan Liberec , where he held the post of assistant coach for two seasons. After the departure of Vitězslav Lavička, he took over the post of head coach for the 2007/08 season. After only six points from new games, he was released on October 6, 2007.

Zach was a little later assistant coach at Bohemians 1905 , after the resignation of head coach Zbyněk Busta on April 10, 2008, he took over his position.
