Michel Gurfinkiel

Michel Gurfinkiel (born August 1, 1948 in Paris ) is a French publicist and political advisor. He became known as a critic of Islam . His theses on a possible Islamization of France led to controversy.

life and work

Gurfinkiel comes from a Jewish-French family . He works for various international newspapers. He mainly publishes in the Valeurs Actuelles . He has published articles on Le Spectacle du Monde , Commentary , The Wall Street Journal , The New York Sun , The Middle East Quarterly , The Weekly Standard, and The Jerusalem Post . Since 2003 he has been director of the Jean-Jacques Rousseau Institute (JJRI) for geopolitics .

Positions

He became known to the general public about his theses about a possible Islamization of France . According to Gurfinkiel's theses, the French nation- state would have outlived itself as an idea. Rather, the diversity of the population and their religions would lead to a Balkanization of the country. In a few decades France would be comparable to today's Lebanon . The traditional separation of religion and state in France would also be softened by politics.
