Michel Pont

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Michel Pont (born June 19, 1954 in Geneva ) is a former Swiss football player and today's coach.

As a football player, Pont was active at CS Chênois and Étoile Carouge . Before his appointment as national assistant coach in 2001, he had worked as a coach for three Geneva teams and FC Lugano . In the Swiss national team he assisted Köbi Kuhn and, since 2008, Ottmar Hitzfeld . Hitzfeld consciously chose Pont as his assistant trainer because of his lack of knowledge of French and his previous assistant coach Michael Henke . After Hitzfeld resigned as coach after the World Cup finals in Brazil in 2014, Pont also ended his work with the Swiss national team.
