Michelangelo Gasparini
Michelangelo Gasparini , also Michel Angelo Gasparini (around 1675 in Lucca - 1732 in Venice ) was an Italian opera singer ( countertenor ), singing teacher and composer.
Life
Gasparini studied composition with Antonio Lotti and worked mainly in Venice. There he also sang the roles of Decio and Geminio in January 1697 in the Venetian premiere of Tito Manlio by Matteo Noris (libretto) and Carlo Francesco Pollarolo (music).
He also opened a singing school in Venice. One of his students was Faustina Bordoni . He also composed five operas, all of which were performed in Venice, as well as the oratorio Santa Vittoria , chamber music, cantatas and other vocal works.
