Michiel van Dorsten (born August 8, 1986 in Hoogeveen ) is a Dutch volleyball and beach volleyball player .

Career

Van Dorsten played indoor volleyball at Olhaco Hoogeveen and VC Sneek before joining the top club Dynamo Apeldoorn in 2008 . Here the 2.12 meter tall middle blocker and diagonal player became Dutch champions in 2009 and won the cup three times. In 2013 van Dorsten had to end his indoor career because of longstanding knee problems. He then started a beach volleyball career and played nationally with Jeroen Vismans in 2013 , on the FIVB World Tour at the Grand Slam in The Hague with Steven van de Velde and at the World Cup in Stare Jabłonki with Tim Oude Elferink , where he was eliminated without a win after the preliminary round . Since July 2013, van Dorsten has been playing alongside Daan Spijkers .
