Mickaël Nelson (born February 2, 1990 in Marseille ) is a French football player .

Career

Mickaël Nelson's parents come from the island of Réunion . He himself was born in Marseille and played there in his youth from the age of seven at the Sport Club Caillols. From 2004 he belonged to the HSC Montpellier . He was the captain of the U-19 team that won the Coupe Gambardella , the cup competition of the French A youth teams, in 2009 . He was also a junior national player of France from the U17 to the U19 and took part in the U-17 World Cup in Korea and the U-19 European Championship in Ukraine.

As early as 2008, at the end of the season, he had his first brief assignment in the first team of the HSC in the second division of France. The following year the team rose to the top division, but Nelson did not manage to gain a foothold among the professionals either in this or in the following years.

The versatile defensive player moved in 2011 to the third German division for SV Babelsberg 03 as a reinforcement for the right side of the defense. On the first day of the 2011/12 season he was used for over 90 minutes. On the second day of the match, shortly after being substituted on, he scored his first goal in German professional football with a 3-0 win against Rot-Weiß Erfurt . After the season he returned to France.
