Microceratus (formerly Microceratops ) is a controversial genus of the bird pelvic dinosaur (Ornithischia) from the group of the Ceratopsia .

Only a few teeth, lower jaw parts and bones of Microceratus are known, which do not allow an exact description of this dinosaur. In addition, isolated finds were only awarded due to their small size, which is no longer tenable. A find was also spun off as a separate genus Graciliceratops in 2000 , which is why Microceratus is now considered a nomen dubium .

The genus was originally called Microceratops by Birger Bohlin in 1953 , but since the name is occupied by a parasitic wasp genus , Octavio Mateus proposed the new name Microceratus in 2008 .
