The Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a convertible PC from the American software and hardware group Microsoft Corporation , which is part of the company's Surface series . It was presented at a hardware event in New York on May 20, 2014.
The device is a tablet computer that can be used like a notebook thanks to the kickstand and the optionally available type cover.
Technical specifications
The display of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is 12 inches , with IPS technology being used as display technology. The resolution is 2160 × 1440 pixels. The display is also compatible with n-trig technology, which supports active input pens such as the Surface Pen.
Depending on the variant, either an Intel Core i3, Intel Core i5 or Intel Core i7 is installed as the processor. There are also 4 or 8 gigabytes of RAM. Files and programs can be stored on the 64, 128, 256 or 512 gigabyte m.2 SSD.
The connections include a Mini DisplayPort socket , a UBS 3.0 connection , a headphone connection , the keyboard connection (type cover) and the connection for the docking station (Surface Connect, proprietary ). Of the wireless connections, the Surface Pro 3 has integrated wireless LAN and Bluetooth 4.0 .
A 5-megapixel digital camera for digital photography and video recording is installed on both the front and the rear. Video telephony is also possible in conjunction with the microphones that are also available.
design
The front of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is made of glass, the back is made of a special magnesium alloy in the color silver. According to Microsoft, this is particularly robust and light.
