Coordinates: 34 ° 54 ′ S , 139 ° 18 ′ E The Mid Murray Council is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 7,957 km² and has around 8600 inhabitants (2016).
Mid Murray is located along the Murray River about 60 km east of the metropolis of Adelaide . The administrative headquarters of the council is in Mannum am Murray in the south of the LGA, where about 2400 inhabitants live (2016).

The Mid Murray Council has eleven members and ten councilors are elected by residents of the five wards (three from Randall Ward, two each from River North, River South and Sturt Ward, and one from Reedy Creek Ward). These five districts are defined independently of the localities. The council chairman and mayor is also elected by all residents of the LGA.
