Coordinates: 34 ° 26 ′  S , 138 ° 30 ′  E The District Council of Mallala is a local government area (LGA) in the Australian state of South Australia . The area is 932 km² and has about 8,800 inhabitants (2016).

Mallala is located on the Saint Vincent Gulf about 60 kilometers north of the metropolis of Adelaide . The area includes 22 districts and villages: Barabba, Calomba, Dublin, Fischer, Grace Plains, Korunye, Lewiston, Long Plain, Lower Light, Mallala, Middle Beach, Parham, Port Gawler, Port Parham, Port Prime, Redbanks, Reeves Plains, Thompson Beach, Two Wells, Webb Beach, Wild Horse Plains and Windsor. The administrative headquarters of the council is located in the village of Mallala, where about 750 inhabitants live (2016).

The Council of Mallala has eleven members elected by the residents of the four wards (four from Lewiston Ward, three from Two Wells Ward and two each from Mallala and Dublin Ward). These four districts are defined independently of the localities. The chairman of the council is elected from among the councilors.
