Miguel Barreiro

Miguel Manuel Francisco Barreiro Bermúdez (born July 5, 1789 in Montevideo , Viceroyalty of the Río de la Plata , † May 12, 1848 in Montevideo , Uruguay ) was a Uruguayan politician .

Barreiro, son of Manuel José Barreiros and Bárbara Bermúdez ', was the last governor of Montevideo from July 29, 1815 to January 20, 1817 . He later held a mandate as senator for the Cerro Largo department in independent Uruguay during the first two legislative periods from October 13, 1830 to November 13, 1832 and from February 15, 1834 to July 14, 1836. A few years later he held a senatorial office again in the fourth and fifth legislative periods. This time he represented the Department of Soriano from October 26, 1841 to February 15, 1843 and from February 23 of the same year to February 9, 1846. Here he also took on the role of Second Vice President of the Cámara de Senadores in the years 1843 to 1845.
