Miguel Britos , full name Miguel Ángel Britos , (born July 17, 1985 in Montevideo or Maldonado ) is a Uruguayan football player .
Career
The 1.88 meter tall defender Britos, who grew up in Maldonado, played for the Uruguayan club Centro Atlético Fénix in the Primera División at least from the 2005 midseason and was a member of the club until mid-2006. He then had a position at Juventud until mid-2007 . In the 2007/08 season he ran for the first division club Montevideo Wanderers . He graduated in the Clausura 14 matches in La Liga (one goal) and contested two matches of the Copa Libertadores . He then moved to Italy for FC Bologna in July 2008 . The transfer fee should have been four million euros. Britos signed a five-year contract. In the following three seasons, after 14 league games and one goal in the 2008/09 season and 23 goalless appearances in Serie A in the 2009/10 season, he finally became an absolute regular in 2010/11. With 33 contested championship games and three goals, he increased his overall statistics for the northern Italians to 70 league games and four goals in that last round. After the commitment by SSC Napoli , he played in the following season in southern Italy and won the Coppa Italia with the team . His compatriots Edinson Cavani and Walter Gargano were among his team-mates with the Neapolitans . In Seria A, however, he only made eleven season appearances in the championship at his new club and scored one goal. In the 2012/13 season, the coach relied on Brito's services in 22 league games (no goal). He also played in three Europa League matches . The second half of the season was overshadowed for Britos by a broken jaw in the encounter with Juventus Turin on March 1, 2013. In September 2013, Britos, who has not yet been nominated for the Uruguayan national team, said that he still hoped not to give up on an appointment by national coach Tabarez . In the 2013/14 season, he recorded 16 league games (one goal) as well as two games in the Champions League and three in the Europa League. During the 2014/15 season he played 19 Serie A games (one goal), two matches (no goal) in Champions League qualification and twelve Europa League games (no goal). At the end of the season he finished 5th with Napoli in Serie A. In July 2015 he moved to England to the Premier League promoted FC Watford, which was coached by Quique Sanchez Flores , and signed a three-year contract.
In the 2015/16 season he played 24 first division games without a personal goal. During the 2016/17 season he played in 27 top division games and scored one goal.
