Miguel Margalef

Miguel Margalef , full name Miguel Oscar Margalef Peña , (born March 8, 1956 ) is a former Uruguayan cyclist .

Life

Miguel Margalef, who comes from Paysandú and whose surname is sometimes also used in the spelling Margaleff, is the brother of Mario Margalef and uncle of Tomás Margalef , both of whom were also racing cyclists. Margalef was part of the Uruguayan squad at the 1975 Pan American Games in Mexico City . He also took part in the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal . While he was classified in 22nd place in the 1000-meter time trial , he finished 16th in the 4000-meter team pursuit with the Uruguayan team in the qualification. In 1979 , Margalef took part again in the Pan American Games in Puerto Rico . He was also a member of the Uruguayan team at the South American Games in Argentina in 1982 . Margalef was also the Pan American champion in the 1000 meter time trial. He drove for the team of Club Ciclista Social y Deportivo Amanecer . He also belonged - like his brothers Mario and Tomás - to the Club Ciclista Joselín in Mercedes .
