Mikazuki Iwa ( Japanese 三 日月 岩 'crown rock ' ) is a rocky outcrop in Queen Maud Land in East Antarctica . It rises as the eastern branch of Mount Gaston de Gerlache in the southern part of the Queen Fabiola Mountains .
Japanese scientists measured it in 1969 and named it in 1979.
