Mike Anchondo (* 15. April 1982 in Los Angeles , California as Michael Alfred Anchondo ) is a retired American boxer in the super featherweight and normal boom . He was managed by Óscar de la Hoya's father, Joel De La Hoya, and coached by both Clemente Medina and Justin Fortune .

Anchondo was unbeaten (19-0-0) when he became WBC youth world champion on January 16, 2003 . When he won the vacant WBO world championship title in July 2004 with a unanimous victory over the Argentine Julio Pablo Chacon , he was still undefeated (24-0-0).

This changed on April 8 of the following year when he lost his first title defense against Jorge Rodrigo Barrios by a technical knockout . His last fight, which he lost, took place on September 17th in 2010 against Freddy Hernandez .
