Jorge Rodrigo Barrios

Jorge Rodrigo Barrios (* 1. August 1976 in Tigre , Buenos Aires , Argentina ) is a former Argentine boxer in the super featherweight and normal boom .

Professional career

He won his first 14 fights, most of them by knockout. In his 15th fight he was disqualified in a 10-round battle against his compatriot Cesar Emilio Domine in the 4th round and thus suffered his first bankruptcy.

On October 3, 1998, he was Argentine champion. In April 2005 he competed against the previously undefeated Mike Anchondo (25-0-0) for the World Championship belt of the WBO association and won by TKo in the 4th round. He defended the title against Victor Santiago with a technical knockout and against the unbeaten János Nagy (24-0-0) (Nagy ended his career after this defeat). On September 16, 2006, he lost the title to Joan Guzmán by split decision.
