Mike Christian

Mike Christian (born December 5, 1955 in Cleveland , Ohio) is an American professional bodybuilder with the IFBB .

biography

The family left Los Angeles after he was born and moved to Oregon. His father convinced the 13-year-old to take the stage. Mike overcame his shyness, won a first competition and was elected Mr. Portland in 1976. He nicknamed himself "The Iron Warrior" . This moniker was a tribute to his earlier street gangs days, and the term was also used as a trademark for the competitions.

In 1979 Christian secured 3rd place in bodybuilding competition, as well as 3rd place in the AAU Junior Mr. America. In 1981 he and his girlfriend Marla moved to Los Angeles, to Santa Monica , California. In 1982 he moved to NPC competitions and finished fifth in the heavyweight division at the NPC Nationals. Christian's promotion to the Pro Division came with a heavyweight win in 1984 at the World Amateur Bodybuilding Championships . Seven months later, he took part in the professional event The Night of Champions for the first time and ended up in fourth place. Christian achieved five wins in 22 competitions at the IFBB. In 2005, Mike was inducted into the IFBB Hall of Fame.

Entrepreneur

In 1988 Christian launched his Platinum clothing line specifically for fitness and bodybuilding. After his success in the USA, his German friend Dieter Kessler helped him bring this clothing line to Germany and Europe. Together they presented the cult pants u. a. at FIBO , where Christian also won the Grand Prix Germany - IFBB.
