Mike Gallagher (radio host)
Mike Gallagher (* 1960 as Michael Smelstor ) is an American radio host. He sees himself as conservative and occasionally represents right-wing populist opinions.
He is the host of the Mike Gallagher Show named after him, which is broadcast nationwide on the Salem Radio Network . He occasionally appears as a guest on right-wing Fox News Channel . Gallagher is the sixth most listened to presenter in the United States, according to Talkers Magazine .
Career

He began making radio in Dayton , Ohio when he was seventeen . He started at WAVI-AM and later moved to WFBC-AM in Greenville , South Carolina (now WORD-AM ) where his career took off. He became "Station Manager", i.e. head of the department. He then went to WGY-AM in Albany, New York , where he continued his career. The Mike Gallagher Show was launched in 1998 .

Private life
Gallagher was from Dayton, Ohio, the son of Leon and Marge Gallagher. His father ran a pizzeria with delivery service. Gallagher's father died of leukemia when he was 11. His mother died of bladder cancer 10 years later. During his school days he played in the school theater.
In 2008 his wife Denise died of cancer.
