Michael Steven "Mike" Lapper (born August 28, 1970 in Redondo Beach , California , USA ) is a retired American soccer player .

After university he played for Los Angeles in the former American Professional Soccer League (APSL).

In the 1994/95 season he played in Germany for VfL Wolfsburg (16 games / 1 goal) and from 1995 to 1997 in England for Southend United (52 games / 1 goal).

He then returned to the USA, where he completed 110 games for Columbus Crew in the MLS and scored five goals.

In 1992 he played for the US soccer team at the Summer Olympics , in 1994 he took part in the FIFA World Cup and in 1995 in COPA America.

He played 44 times for the USA between 1991 and 1995 and scored one goal.
