Michael Fitzgerald "Mike" Morrison (born August 16, 1967 in Washington, DC ) is a retired American basketball player .

Life

Morrison played at Loyola University Maryland from 1985 to 1989 . With his 1697 points scored during this time, the 1.93-meter-long advanced player took third place in the university team's eternal basket hunter list. The Phoenix Suns secured  the rights to Morrison in the NBA draft process in 1989 (second selection round, 51st place).

He was used by Phoenix in 36 NBA games during the 1989/90 season, Morrison averaged two points per use. In the game year 1990/91 Morrison was employed in the Continental Basketball Association (CBA) also in his home country. He played for three different teams this season: The Rapid City Thrillers, the Tulsa Fast Breakers and the Wichita Falls Texans. After the season in the CBA he ran in the World Basketball League for teams from the cities of Erie and Nashville , then was under contract with the Shell Rimula team in the Philippines . His best performance there was 56 points in one game. In December 1991 Morrison moved to the Raleigh Bullfrogs in the US league Global Basketball Association.

In 1993, Morrison played in Australia for the Geelong Supercats, averaging 22.3 points per game. He was under contract with Beitar Ramat Gan in Israel , for the 2000/01 season the US-American moved to Germany at the age of 33 to join the Bundesliga promoted Oldenburger TB and should help Lower Saxony with his experience. Morrison managed to stay in the top German division with Oldenburg, he scored an average of 13.5 points in 32 Bundesliga appearances. In the relegation round he had increased his offensive power again significantly compared to the previous season with 20.3 points per encounter. It stayed in Oldenburg for a year.

In 2014, Morrison was inducted into the Loyola University Maryland Sports Hall of Fame .
