Mike Weissmann (born September 12, 1966 in Leipzig ) is a former German racing cyclist .

Athletic career

Weissmann gained his first racing experience in the GDR at the SC DHfK Leipzig . After the reunification in the GDR, he moved to the RSG Nürnberg together with other athletes such as Bert Dietz , Gerd Audehm and Steffen Rein . The RSG Nürnberg maintained a professional team from 1996 , the Nürnberger team , to which Weissmann belonged from its foundation until 1999. He was considered a good sprinter who was particularly successful in mass sprints of stage races . He ended his professional career at the age of 33.
