Mike van der Kooy (born January 30, 1989 in De Meern ) is a Dutch football player . The defender has been part of the professional squad of the Dutch second division club AGOVV Apeldoorn since summer 2010 .

Career

Van der Kooy already played for various youth teams before the scouts of FC Utrecht lured him into the local football camp. At the beginning of the 2007/08 season, the then 18-year-old moved into the club's professional squad. He finally made his debut in the Eredivisie on February 3, 2008 . In the 2-0 win over Willem II Tilburg , the defensive player came on for Alje Schut in the 69th minute . Shortly thereafter, he signed a professional contract until 2011.

After he had already been loaned to the second division club FC Oss in the second half of the 2009/10 season , van der Kooy moved to AGOVV Apeldoorn in the summer of 2010 .

National team

Van der Kooy plays in the youth teams of the Netherlands. With the U17 of his country he took part in the 2005 World Cup in Peru.
