Mikiko Kainuma

Mikiko Kainuma (born September 13, 1950 ) is a Japanese climate scientist . She heads the Climate Policy Assessment Department at the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES) in Japan.

Life

Kainuma completed her bachelor 's, master ' s and doctoral studies in applied mathematics and physics at the University of Kyoto . She has been working at NIES since 1977 on the topics of air pollution and climate change . She is one of the authors of the IPCC's Fourth Assessment Report (2007) and the IPCC's Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 Degrees .

Act

Kainuma developed the Asia-Pacific Integrated Model (AIM) with Kyoto University and several other institutes across Asia. She dealt with the evaluation of scenarios for the promotion of sustainable development .
