The Mil Mi-34 ( Russian Миль Ми-34 , NATO code name Hermit .) Is a light helicopter with a piston engine drive. The first prototype made its maiden flight in 1986. The Mi-34 was presented at the Paris Air Show in 1987 and was said to be the first helicopter in the Soviet Union to roll and fly loops .

variants

The Mil Mi-34W or Mil Mi-34WAS variant with two WAS-430 rotary piston engines, each 220 PS (162 kW), is built in the WAS car plant in Tolyatti . The first flight took place in 1993. The Mi-34S2 Sapsan ( Peregrine Falcon ), powered by a Turboméca Arrius 2F, is due to hit the market in 2011.
