Milan Frýda (born August 26, 1965 in Chlumec nad Cidlinou ) is a former Czech football player .

Club career

Frýda started playing football at Spartak Hradec Králové . In 1983, when he was still A-youth, he was appointed to the first team, where the midfielder immediately secured a regular place. At the beginning of 1985 the talent of Slavia Prague was committed and also prevailed there. In the 1986/87 and 1987/88 seasons, he completed his military service at RH Cheb . The playmaker then returned to Prague , where he was again part of the permanent staff.

After the velvet revolution , Frýda took the opportunity to move abroad and joined the Swiss association Lausanne-Sports . After two years he returned to Czechoslovakia and from then on played for his former club SK Hradec Králové . Frýda ended his professional career after the 1993/94 season, but played for several years for various clubs in Czech amateur football.

National team

Frýda was considered a great talent in the 1980s. Between 1982 and 1984 it was used 25 times in his country's U17 and U18 selection. He played 24 times in the U21 national team. Frýda could never fulfill the hopes placed in him, in the national team of Czechoslovakia he was only used once. On August 21, 1991, he played 49 minutes in a friendly against the selection of Switzerland , the country in which he was active.

After the active career

After his playing career, Frýda was a coach at various amateur clubs. For several years he has also been running a soccer camp for young players, the Fotbalový Kemp Milana Frýdy .
