Millennium Management is an investment management company with a multistrategi "multistrategy" hedge fund offering and $ 39 billion in assets under management, one of the world's largest alternative asset management firms . The company operates in America , Europe and Asia .
history
Israel A. Englander founded the company in 1989 with $ 35 million. The initial $ 35 million was made up of $ 5 million from Englander and "$ 2 million from the Belzberg brothers, wealthy Canadian financiers.
In spring 2018, Millennium started a joint venture with WorldQuant, a quantitative investment management company.
In 2019, London-based investment firm "LCH Investment" ranked Millennium Management 12th on the list of the most successful hedge funds of all time, reporting that the company has generated $ 22.4 billion for investors since it was founded in 1989 has been an average of 14% per year since it was founded. After a two-year hiatus from raising capital, the company raised $ 4.1 billion in 2019. The company expects to raise funds of $ 7.1 billion through March 2020 and has over $ 40 billion under management. Israel Englander is the Co-CEO and Founder of Millennium Management. He started trading stocks while still at school and founded his first company in 1977, IA Englander & Company, which continues to trade stocks and bonds to this day.
Robert Jain - In 2016, Millennium Management hired Robert Jain to join Israel Englander as Co-CIO. At the time, he was global head of Credit Suisse Asset Management, the asset management arm of Credit Suisse .
