Miller needle

Miller needle , named after Willoughby D. Miller , is a probe used in dentistry to find and probe root canals. This instrument is also used to examine crown margins for possible gaps or protrusions.

The shaft is usually square and can be clamped in a holder. Towards the end of the work, the probe is round and extremely pointed. The material is very elastic and consists of stainless steels. If the probe is wrapped thinly with cotton wool , it can be used to insert drugs into the root canal .
