Milliman
Milliman is a global corporate and strategy consultancy in the financial services sector . The focus is on the insurance sector as well as old-age and health provision. After the implementation of actuarial methods was originally in the foreground, the spectrum offered was later expanded to include strategic issues.
history
The company was founded in Seattle in 1947 by Wendell Milliman and Stuart A. Robertson under the name Milliman & Robertson . In the 1960s, the company innovative approaches to making a name with the development company pension and benefit plans as well as for corporate health insurance in the United States in the 1970s it supported in the development of health maintenance organizations .
Since the 1990s, Milliman has expanded outside of the United States, first via Japan into Asia and then to Europe and Latin America . In 2005 the German branch was founded in Munich in the form of a GmbH . At the beginning of 2012, a second German branch opened in Düsseldorf .
