Milton Viera Rivero (born May 11, 1946 in Rio de Janeiro , Brazil ) is a former Uruguayan football player .

Milton Viera was born the son of Uruguayan coach Ondino Viera in Rio de Janeiro when he was coaching CR Vasco da Gama there .

Career

society

Viera began his career in 1965 with Nacional Montevideo . His club won the Uruguayan championship title during this period in 1966. In 1968 he moved to Buenos Aires to join the Boca Juniors . At least 1970 to 1972 he was in Peñarol's ranks . In this first phase of his career, he completed a total of 56 games in the competition for the Copa Libertadores with his clubs Nacional and Peñarol in the period 1966 to 1972 , in which he was able to score six goals. Twice, in 1967 and 1970 , he and his team only lost in the final.

In 1972 he moved to Greece, where he joined Olympiacos Piraeus . Here he was active until 1977 and during this time he won the Greek championship three times (1973, 1974, 1975) and the Greek cup competition in 1973 and 1975. At the end of his time in Piraeus were 112 appearances in the highest Greek league for him, in which he scored a total of eleven goals. 33 more league games were added in the following two years, which he spent at AEK Athens until 1979 . Here, too, he was able to celebrate winning the Greek championship title with his teammates in 1978 and 1979. In 1978 he also won the national cup.

National team

The midfielder was a member of the Uruguayan national soccer team , with which he participated in the 1966 Soccer World Cup . There he became the first son who was used by his father as a coach at a world championship. Overall, he completed five international matches from May 18, 1966 to July 19, 1966, in which he scored one goal.
