Mimi Dancourt

Marie-Anne-Michelle Carton (* 1685 - March 21, 1780 in Paris ), known as Mimi Dancourt , was a French actress.

biography

As the daughter of Thérèse Dancourt and Florent Dancourt , she played her first child role , the chonchette, in 1695 in her father's play, La Foire de Bezons . She received her first real role at the Comédie-Française in 1699.

She looked very similar to her mother and so she also played the teenage lover, but also comic roles and the classic soubrette . In 1726 she took on the role of mother in Voltaire's L'Indiscret , a character she turned down for herself. In 1728 she said goodbye to the stage. Until the end of her life she received a pension of 1,000 livres .

Mimi Dancourt was married to a civil servant in the military, Samuel Boutinon Delhayes. Only one known child, Thérèse , emerged from this marriage .
