Mimizan-Plage is a district of the French commune of Mimizan in the Landes department in the Nouvelle-Aquitaine region .

The seaside resort on the Côte d'Argent (Silver Coast) lies between the Atlantic Ocean and the Landes forest in Gascony. The river Mimizan divides the place into a south and a north half.

Mimizan-Plage has ten kilometers of fine sandy beaches. The tourist offer consists of seasonal markets, a casino , restaurants and bars.

history

From the 1880s, tourism developed in Mimizan-Plage. In 1907 a train connection was created from the old town of Mimizan-Bourg to Mimizan-Plage. The bridge over the river, created in 1907/08, created the basis for the further development of the seaside resort.
