Magdolna "Magda" Maros (born October 4, 1951 in Budapest ) is a former Hungarian foil fencer .

successes

Magda Maros became world champion with the team in Gothenburg in 1973 and took second place with her in Grenoble in 1974 , in Budapest in 1975 , in Melbourne in 1979 and in Rome in 1982 . She took part in two Olympic Games . At the 1976 Olympic Games in Montreal , she won with the Hungarian team, which in addition to Maros still Ildikó Bóbis , Edit Kovács , Ildikó Ujlakiné-Rejtő and Ildikó Schwarczenbergercounted the bronze medal. Four years later in Moscow she repeated this success with Gertrúd Stefanek , Zsuzsanna Szőcs , Ildikó Schwarczenberger and Magda Maros. In the individual, she reached the final round in 1980, in which she won the silver medal behind Pascale Trinquet and in front of Barbara Wysoczańska with a record of 3-2 victories. For this success she was named Hungary's Sportswoman of the Year at the end of 1980 .
