Kerman Lejarraga Arana (* 19th February 1992 in Bilbao , Spain ) is a Spanish professional boxer and former European Champion (EBU) in welterweight . The boxing association WBC places him in 2nd place in the world ranking of challengers, 3rd place in the IBF and 5th place in the WBO and WBA respectively (as of February 2019).
Career
Kerman Lejarraga won his professional debut on May 18, 2013. In December 2015, he defeated the Dane Kim Poulsen (record: 27-2) by TKO in the second round and in March 2016 László Tóth (20-1) by unanimous decision, making him WBA International Welterweight Champion became. In June 2016 he defended the title through TKO in the fourth round against Denton Vassell (23-3). He also beat the Colombian Francisco Cordero (33-6) in a non-title fight by knocking out in the third round. He won another title defense in December 2016 against the Mexican Jesus Gurrola (23-9) by TKO in the sixth round. Then he defeated opponents with positive records like Gabor Gorbics (23-5) and Jose Abreu (13-1). In November 2017 he defeated Jose Del Rio (26-6) in the battle for the Spanish welterweight championship.
On April 28, 2018 he boxed for the EBU European welterweight title, winning against British champion Bradley Skeete (27-1) by TKO in the second round. On November 17, 2018, he defended the title by knocking out in the fourth round against Frankie Gavin (26-3).
On March 30, 2019, he lost the title through TKO in the ninth round to Dawid Awanessjan (23-3). In his next fight, which he already fought against Luis Solís (25-9) in June 2019, he won by knockout in the fourth round and thus became WBC Latino light middleweight champion. On September 28, 2019 he lost the rematch against Dawid Awanessjan (24-3) again by TKO.
