Karl-Heinz Liese (born October 26, 1923 ) is a former German soccer player .

Career

Liese played after the end of the Second World War from the 1946/47 season for TSV Braunschweig , which was renamed Eintracht Braunschweig from April 1, 1949, as part of the British zone championship in the Lower Saxony South Oberliga . He then played two seasons in the Oberliga Nord , one of five seasons as the highest German division.

The 1949/50 season he then played for league rivals FC St. Pauli . With nine points behind Hamburger SV , his team finished the season in second place and consequently also took part in the final round of the German championship . He made his debut on May 21, 1950 in Hanover in the 4-0 round of 16 victory over the Koblenz district club TuS Neuendorf . The end of this competition followed in the quarter-finals against SpVgg Fürth with 2: 3 - despite a 2-0 lead - on June 4, 1950 in Gelsenkirchen.

For the 1950/51 season switched to the city and league competitor Hamburger SV , he played for this until the end of the 1957/58 season . During his club membership he won - with the exception of the 1953/54 season - the North German championship seven times. Because of these successes, he and his team took part in the respective finals of the German championship and played a total of 31 final round matches up to 1957. First he played three, in the following seasons until 1956 all six group matches. In 1956/57 he was used in three Group 1 games , which were played for the first time in a simple round in which everyone played against everyone on a neutral pitch. Hamburger SV, as group winners, reached the final with him on June 23, 1957. Borussia Dortmund , winner of Group 2, won the game 4: 1 in front of 76,000 spectators in Hanover and thus defended the title won a year earlier. A year earlier, on August 5, 1956, he reached the final of the national club cup with Hamburger SV, which was lost 3-1 to Karlsruher SC in the Karlsruhe Wildpark Stadium in front of 25,000 spectators . Before that, he was successful with his team in the semi-finals 2-1 at Fortuna Düsseldorf and played seven cup games from 1952 to 1955, in the three previous seasons.
