Mindaugas Butkus

Mindaugas Butkus (born June 6, 1961 ) is a Lithuanian diplomat, ambassador .

Life

After graduating from high school, he completed a diploma course in Lithuanian and German from 1986 to 1992 at the Vilniaus universitetas . Since 1992 he has been working as a diplomat at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania . From 1994 to 1995 he headed a sub-department for multilateral relations. From 1995 to 1999 he was a consultant in the Lithuanian embassy in Berlin . From 2003 to 2007 he was Consul General in New York City . From 2007 to 2009 he was Director of Political Planning at the Ministry. From 2009 to 2012 he was ambassador to Germany.
